WEST PALM BEACH, Florida — A Florida father is now rallying to help his daughter who survived a massive tsunami.
Eddie Zuniga has spent the past two weeks raising money to help the 6-year-old girl, who was found unconscious and with her mouth taped shut.
The family was able to raise nearly $4,000 in just three days.
“I don’t know if we can save her, but I know we can help her,” Zunigo said.
After she was found, her father went to a hospital and told nurses she was in critical condition.
Zuniga, 48, says he thought it was a miracle.
He said she was crying and he was worried she might not survive.
A day after she was rescued, Zunigas oldest daughter, Lauren, was found dead in the ocean, where her parents were at the time.
Zunia says she was wearing a towel and had been in a pool of blood for about three hours.
She was in good condition, but he said he thought her brain was damaged.
It took two weeks to find the body of her younger brother, who drowned.
Zuns brother, Aaron, was still missing and presumed drowned.
Since then, the Zunigras have been searching for Lauren.
They have not been able to find her, and they still do not know what happened to her.
They say the family is trying to raise money to cover funeral costs.
